A few days ago I received an email from the Allume organizers inviting the #Allumedudes to hack their wives blogs. Instructions for this post can be found here. You’ll also find links to read what other husbands are saying about their wives blogging.
I get hand written notes from my husband all the time but he’s not a writer. He’s a techie. He can talk cars, guns, music, sound equipment and shop talk until he runs out of spit but he’s not a writer. Or at least that’s what I thought. I was curious about how he would answer the question so I tried to lure him in with the whole iPad thing (that was the prize for the husband who was chosen). It makes perfect sense, he’s a techie. But, it had been a few days and he didn’t give me anything. He works grueling hours and has a long commute so I wasn’t going to add “one more thing”. Then tonight, when he sent me this, all typed out…well, you know me…I’m trying to format, cut and paste through the tears.
How the blogging community and/or the Allume conference has impacted my wife for good
I believe the blogging world has influenced my wife in many ways. Being part of what she calls a community has opened doors and her eyes to so many things. Things I know she could not have imagined. It has made her more confident in what she is doing for God daily. Especially when she gets private emails from women who need encouragement or want to encourage her. She’s working on a book and puts a lot of time into her writing and mentoring. Despite her lack of confidence in herself, at times, she continues to move forward in faith and she’s happier than she’s ever been.
My wife has met so many different women since she started blogging. Women from all over the world. It’s funny how she is surprised by it. But I’m not surprised really. My wife is amazing; she has been blessed with so many gifts and talents. I believe that this is only the beginning of what the Lord has for her. She will continue to be blessed and bless others with what God has given her and what He is doing in her and I’m along for the ride. I’ll continue to close my bedroom door when she’s laughing and snorting at her #FMFParty on Twitter. I don’t know what the Allume conference is going to bring but I’ve been hearing about it since May so I know its gotta be good.
Diana said I’m supposed to say I’m linking up with other #Allumedude hackers. Allume dude? I don’t know how I feel about that.
Not writing about cars. Yet.
Jakub
Can you see why I’m a blubbering fool? Ugh! My hubby is so thoughtful of me. I know that this was a challenge for him, just like everything else in our relationship. Have I told you how outnumbered he is? We’re 4 women under one roof. Poor guy, he never had a chance. lol Truth is, whether he wins an iPad or not, he’s a winner in my book. He’s got my back even though I make him crazy with my Twitter party giggling (yes, sometimes there’s snorting) and very late nights at my laptop. I am a blessed woman. Here’s a picture he definitely didn’t give me permission to share from our date in the mountains.
Meet Jakub, my hubby of 19 years, the one whose dimples melt my heart! |
