Have you ever felt like it was smooth sailing and you were suddenly tossed overboard? Waves pounding and you couldn’t catch your breath? I’ve been there. I guess at some point we’ve all been there.
If you need a little encouragement today, I invite you to watch this video. But first, grab a cup of coffee (or tea), put your feet up, and spend the next 15 minutes with me and two incredible people whose stories you might just love as much as I do.
On Easter Sunday Christ Tabernacle shared the story of three ordinary people (myself included) who were rescued from certain death.
Luis Collazo is the Former Welterweight Champion from Brooklyn with an incredible 39-5 boxing record. He thought he had it all but he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more. He’s a family guy who is sold out for Jesus.
KT was on a path of destruction; her drug and alcohol addiction caused her to lose almost everything. That’s when God showered her with a love she never imagined could be hers.
And, if you don’t already know me, my story may sound too familiar. I thought God was keeping me from something so I walked away from Him in search for more. Like Luis I was searching for meaning and like KT, I nearly lost it all. At my lowest point God came to me, called me His own, healed me and gave my life purpose.
None of this means God is done with us. He isn’t. And, we are not perfect. In fact, I am FAR from perfect. The difference between my life then and my life now is simple, I don’t have to try to figure anything out on my own anymore. It turns out, HE had a plan for my life the whole time; I was just too far and disconnected from Him to see it. He is my constant source of joy and peace especially when life get scary. I keep my eyes on Him and not on the storms because I KNOW, He won’t let me drown.
With Him I have peace, a restored family, I get to work and serve my city at The Legacy Center, lead a life group, teach at my church, and I get to write about my journey. No more struggling; I’m not drowning anymore.
Luis, KT and I are sharing our stories because we are excited about what God has done in us and for us, and we want to make sure that you know that God is still in the business of restoring the broken. No matter how impossible it looks. And now God is using us to bring a message of hope to the hopeless.
Learning and sharing as I journey to KNOW, REFLECT and surrender to Him,
